Basel, Rapperswil, Winterthur, and Zurich

We came back from Rome on a Thursday via Basel. As we arrived into Basel early, we decided to do a brief tour of this very small, but picturesque city. The next day, we traveled about 20 minutes south of our home in Oberrieden to a town called Rapperswil, which is known for a midieval castle that is now home to a Polish museum. The castle and museum were unfortunately closed, but the outside area surrounding the castle was still open to the public and offered some amazing views of the town as well as Lake Zurich. Saturday we visited Kyburg Castle, one of the most impressive castles in Switzerland. Finally on Sunday, we were lucky enough to experience the Zurich "Fasnacht" or carnival (think Mardi Gras but on a much smaller scale). Sorry for the brief explanation, but the pictures will speak for themselves.
